Messianic Jewish Music
My name is Oxana Eliahu, and I was born in Russia, in Leningrad - now Saint Petersburg. My parents were totally secular. No one ever talked to me about God,and my only knowledge of Him came from books or pictures that I had seen in museums. From these I had learned that in previous generations there were people who believed that there was a God. I thought that these were very narrow-minded people who had never studied about evolution and had never read any books apart from the Bible.
In 1989 I saw the movie "Jesus" and it touched my heart and I started to investigate about Yeshua, i wanted to know if He is really the one that the bible is prophesies about. I was quite a sinner. But I was discontent and restless inside. I went backwards and forwards between God and the world.
I wanted to be godly, and yet I was still not ready to give all aspects of my life to God.
Then one night I was attending a Bible study and we were studying the book of John, when somehow I finally got a very strong revelation that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Jewish Messiah.
That He is the Light of the World, the Bread of Life, the Only Way!
I knew that I had received the fire of God directly into my heart,
and since that moment it is still burning within me.
I am a changed woman, and it is nothing about me, but it is all about Him!
The music on the album "The Power of Words" is all in Hebrew. There are several singers,both male and female and even a very talented youth. There are various styles, and moods, with a number of jazz influences. All of the songs have a strong scriptural base.

At the time the song was written, I was working in a secular job. One morning I came to the office and as usual, I was shining from Joy. One lady in the office asked me: "What is that in you? you are shining from the early morning, are you taking drugs or so? how can it be that you are this way all the time!" After about 20 minutes of prayer i saw a vision; I saw arms spread apart ready to hug me and they were huge; they were kind of shiny. I could not see the person, just his arms, but it was very big, like a mountain, and I felt so small.
