Messianic Jewish Music
During my childhood in Sydney there was a man called Arthur Stace, who used to write “Eternity” on the footpaths of the city. This one-word message deeply impressed me and since then I have always been conscious of human frailty and the shortness of life, and have found the concept of Eternity and an Eternal God who has “been our refuge in all generations” (Ps 90:1), whose “mercy is from everlasting to everlasting” (Ps 103:17) and whose “word endures forever” (Is 40:7), both challenging and comforting.
Though man is truly “as grass”, I have become convinced that he too can be of eternal significance when he yields his life to the call and purpose of the Eternal God. This is the message of this disc, but the idea was birthed when my husband liked the song, “All Flesh is as Grass”, and said, “That should be the first song on your disc.” Suddenly I had the name of my disc – and began choosing old and composing new songs around this idea. May it challenge and comfort you too!
