Yet, one thing that distinguishes this album from much that is out there, thematically and musically, is its tension - a tension between Israel’s present and future (“For Zion’s Sake,” “If I Forget You”); between living in this world and living for the next (“Hear”); between realizing where one has come from, and forgetting what lies behind, focusing on the Author and Perfecter of our faith (“Hope in the Lord,” “Kedushah”).
